Monthly Archives: April 2009
National Poetry Week is a good time to celebrate people’s creative talents and inspire others to express themselves. Watch later this year for a collection of poetry, artwork, and stories of recovery to be published by Northern Lakes CMH.
Life, by Christine Kelly
Life is a book
That is being written
Each day.
We choose the way
It will play out.

My Dreams, by Christine Kelly
As my dreams appear,
I assess
if I can make some sense
of this mess.
They’re jumbled together,
and some have died.
Some I’ve made true,
or really tried.
I hope that I keep
these dreams,
and work really hard,
and don’t come apart
at the seams.
Thank you, Christine, for this submission in celebration of National Poetry Week:
Inner Self, by Christine Kelly
Deep within
Is a person
That longs
To emerge.
She’s reluctant
To show
Her face
To anyone.
Slowly she’s
Allowing glimpses
Of her
True nature.
And hoping
That people
Will like
What they see.
Another poem for your enjoyment, in celebration of National Poetry Week:
My Life, by Christine Kelly
My life is what I make it,
I know this to be true.
I make my own decisions,
And try to see them through.
I try to keep this in mind,
When decisions come my way.
I always decide thoughtfully,
Each and every day.

Watch for it!

The third week of March is our chance to celebrate our volunteers! At Northern Lakes CMH, consumers volunteer in a lot of ways:
